Barrington High to host final 6th District candidates forum March 13

Barrington High School students on March 13 will host the final forum featuring candidates in the 6th Congressional District Democratic Primary.

This event begins at 7 p.m. in the Richard C. Johnson Auditorium at the high school, 616 W. Main St., Barrington. It is open to the public but requires registration. Free tickets and more information are available at http://bit.ly/Forum-Barrington.

Students from the school's AP Government and Economics classes are helping to organize the forum, which will feature candidates Sean Casten, Carole Cheney, Amanda Howland, Ryan Huffman, Kelly Mazeski, Becky Anderson Wilkins and Jennifer Zordani.

Journalists Greg Hinz of Crains' Chicago Business, Jim Slusher of the Daily Herald, and Natasha Korecki of Politico will ask questions, along with a student representative.

"Free discussion and involvement in politics is integral to the progress of our community," said Rob Ridenour, AP Economics teacher at the high school. "We encourage citizens from throughout the northern portion of the 6th district, and especially the Barrington area, to attend the forum and be informed voters."

Barrington High School will livestream the forum via the award-winning BHS-TV YouTube channel from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at https://www.youtube.com/user/Barrington220.
