Former DuPage dispatcher pleads not guilty to misconduct, indecency charges

A former longtime dispatch supervisor in the DuPage County sheriff's office has pleaded not guilty to charges of official misconduct and public indecency.

Former communication supervisor Gregg Hanyzeski of Naperville was indicted on two felony counts of official misconduct and two misdemeanor charges of public indecency.

According to court records, Hanyzeski is accused of exposing himself while at work.

Prosecutors said the case initially was impounded because Hanyzeski was out of the country when the charges were lodged.

An email sent to all sheriff's department employees at 9:39 a.m. Dec. 1 by Chief James Kruse stated: "Please be advised that effective Nov. 30, 2017, Communications Supervisor Gregg Hanyzeski is no longer employed with the sheriff's office. Additionally, Mr. Hanyzeski shall not have access to any secure areas of the office."

Hanyzeski is next due in court on April 25 before Judge Robert Miller.
