Schaumburg Schweikher to host monthly lecture series starting March 3

The Schweikher House Preservation Trust invites the public to attend "Conversations in the Studio," a monthly lecture series that focuses on the trust's mission to connect Schaumburg residents with the historic Schweikher House through topics covering art, architecture and science.

The first conversation will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at the studio, 645 S. Meacham Road, Schaumburg. The event will include architectural historian Susan Benjamin, who will showcase early Modernist architecture and architects. She is an accomplished author and preservationist with a career that spans more than 30 years. Benjamin researched and wrote the National Register of Historic Places nomination for the Schweikher House in 1986.

Tickets are $5 and RSVP is required. The event will run approximately one hour and will include a question-and-answer period. Contact Todd Wenger at (847) 923-3866 or Kim Bauer at events@schweikherhouse.org for more information and to RSVP.
