How to obtain pollwatcher credentials in Lake County

The Lake clerk's office will offer training on the rights and limitations of pollwatchers at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 1, in the sixth-floor conference room at the Lake County Courthouse and Administrative Complex, 18 N. County St., Waukegan. Requests for pollwatcher credentials for the March 20 primary and registration for the class can be made via email to elections@lakecountyil.gov or by calling (847) 377-2314. All pollwatchers are required to have credentials issued by the county clerk or Illinois State Board of Elections to observe at any voting site. Candidates can visit LakeCandidatePower.info and download the Pollwatcher Guide, which explains the qualifications and responsibilities of a pollwatcher.
