Waubonsee Community College increases tuition

Waubonsee Community College is increasing by $2 per credit hour the tuition it charges in-district students who take credit classes.

Starting in the fall session, students will pay $128 per hour. The per-hour student fee of $8 will stay the same.

The college board approved the increase Wednesday.

Out of district students pay $339.24 per credit hour.

In 2013, the tuition was $100 per hour. It increased 4 percent in 2014, 5.7 percent in 2015 and 5 percent in 2016.

Harper College in Palatine increased its tuition this week by 4.3 percent, to $148.75 per hour. College of DuPage usually votes on tuition in March.
