Harper College names surgical technology suite after donors
Harper College will name its surgical technology suite in honor of donors Derrick and Joni Hamilton, who have given more than $100,000 to the college and its Promise scholarship program.
Derrick Hamilton served on the college's Educational Foundation Board for seven years, with his term ending last June. Joni Hamilton, a pediatrician in the community, has advocated for the training and placement of graduates in Harper's nursing and CNA programs, officials said.
Located in the Palatine community college's simulation hospital, the suite includes viewing rooms, an operating room and sterile processing areas.
College policy allows for recognition of spaces on campus for gifts of $25,000 or more.
