Bartlett police charge Schaumburg man with auto theft

Bartlett police charged a 21-year-old Schaumburg man with felony theft Feb. 4 after Barrington police located him and recovered the vehicle he is accused of stealing.

Isaiah K. Smith of the 600 block of Academy Court in Schaumburg was charged with felony theft.

Smith is accused of stealing a 2017 Ford Fusion parked on the 800 block of Bryn Mawr Avenue in Bartlett during the early hours of Jan. 26.

About 4 a.m. Feb. 4, Barrington police found the stolen vehicle near Main Street and Elm Road in their village and took Smith into custody without incident, police said in a news release.

Smith's bond was set at $2,000. His next court date is Feb. 26.
