Preparing for kindergarten

The Nurture, Explore, Speak, Teach program wants to help future Hawthorn Elementary District 73 students acquire early literacy and language skills so they are prepared when they reach kindergarten. The program partners with WIC, Child and Family Connections, and the Cook Memorial Library District to identify and help parents access available resources to close experience and opportunity gaps. Free screenings for young children to determine their eligibility for early intervention services will be provided.
