Schaumburg author to discuss latest young adult novel

Susan Miura, author, longtime Schaumburg resident and public relations coordinator for the Schaumburg Township District Library, will speak about her latest young adult novel, "Healer," at its launch at the library.

The event will run from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, in the Rasmussen North Room of the library, 130 S. Roselle Road in Schaumburg.

A performance by the lead singer of the indie-alt band Tiny Kingdoms, as well as cake, giveaways and prizes, will be part of the launch.

Though attendance is free, registration is required by calling (847) 923-3347.

In addition to speaking about the novel, Miura will discuss how people can make a positive difference through their talents and passions.

Attendees can buy copies of the book and get them autographed after the program.

Just released by Vinspire Publishing, "Healer" tells the story of 17-year-old Shilo Giannelli, who finds herself in a life-threatening situation after discovering she possesses the spiritual gift of healing.
