A 12-year-old Schaumburg boy reported missing Saturday night was found safe Sunday morning, police said.
The boy's parents called for assistance in locating him after he left home about 9 p.m. and did not return, according to Schaumburg police.
A DuPage County police dog was called into action as the search got underway. Schaumburg police also used a automated phone alert systemts within a five-mile radius that the boy was missing.
On Sunday morning, friends and family members who were looking found him near his home, police said.
Police said they are continuing to investigate the matter, but there is no suspicion of criminal activity.
