It's melting! Wheaton reschedules Ice (Cubed) Fest

A festival featuring ice sculpture displays and carving demonstrations in downtown Wheaton has been rescheduled from Saturday to early next month because of mild temperatures.

The Downtown Wheaton Association will instead host its Ice (Cubed) Fest from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 3, a new date that coincides with the Wheaton Park District's Ice-A-Palooza at the Central Athletic Complex. Ice-A-Palooza will include open skating and ice games, concessions from Arrowhead Golf Club, a bonfire and s'mores and costumed characters from Disney's "Frozen."

As part of the downtown Ice Fest, more than two dozen sculptures will be on display throughout the business district along with two additional sculptures that artists will carve at noon at Martin Memorial Plaza.
