Money magazine ranks Schaumburg best in state

Schaumburg has been named the Best Place to Live in Illinois by Money magazine on its list for all 50 states.

On a 2017 list of Best Places to Live in the nation, which was not broken down by state, Money named Schaumburg ninth.

Among the reasons cited for its topping the rest of the state is Schaumburg's location along the economic Golden Corridor west of O'Hare International Airport.

But the village also was praised as the home of the Prairie Center for the Arts, the Trickster Art Gallery, Woodfield Mall's collection of nearly 300 stores and restaurants, and the Schaumburg Township District Library, which is one of the largest in the state and visited by more than a million people each year.
