District 59 to decide Thursday on referendum

Elk Grove Township District 59 residents may not get the chance to vote in March on whether the district can issue up to $20 million in bonds.

The school district has set a special meeting for 7 p.m. Thursday at the administration center, 2123 S. Arlington Heights Road in Arlington Heights, to vote on removing the referendum from the March ballot.

School board members called the meeting just ahead of a Friday deadline for the district to submit the referendum question to the Cook County Clerk's Office.
