Elk Grove Township meeting to discuss day care vouchers

Elk Grove Township officials will meet Saturday to talk discuss a voucher program for residents with children in its day care program.

The talks comes as the township advances plans to sell the building where the Elk Grove Township Agency Daycare Center operates.

The nonprofit organization gets funding from the township to provide day care services at 711 Chelmsford Lane in Elk Grove Village. The township is swapping the building with Elk Grove Village for a property at 600 Landmeier Road, where all township operations will be relocated.

With the day care no longer operating at a township facility, officials want to create a system to reimburse families in need who will attend other day cares.

The meeting is at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, at 2400 S. Arlington Heights Road.
