Learn about Super Bowl advertising at Oakton

Brand-building expert Tim Calkins will provide insights into what makes the spots from Super Bowl LII effective or ineffective at a free presentation Thursday, Jan. 25, at Oakton Community College.

The program will be at 6 p.m. in Room 1604 at the college's campus at 1600 E. Golf Road in Des Plaines.

Millions are spent each year producing and running television commercials during the Super Bowl. During his presentation, Calkins will shed light on the high-profile, expensive, entertaining and controversial advertising.

A clinical professor of marketing at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, Calkins is noted for organizing panels of Kellogg students for grading Super Bowl advertising. His groups are often interviewed after the big game by network broadcasters and business publications.
