Des Plaines school named Apple Distinguished School

Des Plaines Elementary School District 62 has announced that Iroquois Community School is now recognized as an Apple Distinguished School for 2017-2019 for its visionary and unique approach through digital literacy.

Apple Distinguished Schools are centers of educational excellence that use technology to inspire creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking, the district said.

"We believe that Iroquois School is an innovation hub where children and teachers are free and encouraged to take chances in digital literacy, thinking and citizenship through the use of their iPad and Mac," Iroquois Principal Michael Amadei said.

The iBook "The Warrior Way-Iroquois Community School" about the school's story can be accessed at www.itunes.com/AppleDistinguishedSchools.
