Spot for friendship comes to Naperville school

A Naperville school has a new place to foster togetherness — a Buddy Bench.

The bench is the second donated to a school by the Excel Exchange Club of the Alive Center in Naperville, a teen arm of the national Exchange Club, whose Naperville branch plans the annual Ribfest celebration.

The club and the donors who sponsored the bench gathered Wednesday at Ellsworth Elementary in Naperville Unit District 203 to dedicate it and place it on the school's playground.

Sangita Rangala and Anand Ramanathan sponsored the bench, which aims to be a space on the playground to foster friendships and eliminate loneliness.
