$90,000 settlement approved in Libertyville

Libertyville officials this week approved a $90,000 settlement to resolve several actions involving a former police officer. Officer Alejandro Cardona had been granted a duty disability pension but the village appealed. Under the settlement, the village dropped its appeal of the case and Cardona dropped his claim for benefits related to the award of the duty disability pension. The action resolves all outstanding issues related to the appeal and workers' compensation claims, according to the resolution.
