Hersey carolers bring holiday spirit to Prospect Heights library

The Charles Dickens Carolers entered the show room Sunday at the Prospect Heights Public Library singing "Here We Come A Caroling," then proceeded to do just that for a delighted audience.

The group of 20 students from John Hersey High School in Arlington Heights followed up with a concert of holiday favorites such as "Joy to the World," "Deck the Halls" and "Jingle Bells."

"This is a yearly tradition for us. We come here and we spread our holiday cheer," said carolers director Sara Michael. "It's wonderful coming here because you see some familiar faces who come back every year."

Among them is Prospect Heights resident Nancy Bryant, who has seen the carolers perform several times over the years.

"It's wonderful. I love the costuming and the music," she said. "We also meet friends when I come to see these shows."
