Elk Grove Village man charged with second burglary
An Elk Grove Village man already facing burglary charges in Mount Prospect picked up a new offense for a second burglary authorities said he committed.
Matthew Cadwell, 30, of the 200 block of Washington Avenue, was handed a new felony charge of residential burglary while appearing in court Thursday on a previous charge, authorities said.
Authorities said Cadwell snuck into a home on Sept. 11 through a window. The bedrooms of the home were ransacked, and cash and jewelry was taken, authorities said.
Evidence recovered at the scene later determined Cadwell as the offender, authorities said.
Mount Prospect police said previously that Cadwel ransacked a residence on Sept. 8 and stole cash, authorities said.
Police said they found a palm print that matched Cadwell's.
Cadwell's bail on the new charge was set at $200,000, and he was given a Dec. 4 court date.
