Elk Grove Village man wins $50,000 Powerball prize
An Elk Grove Village man plans to pay bills and fund home improvements with a $50,000 Powerball prize he won last month.
Erik Childress' winning ticket matched four numbers, plus the Powerball number, in an Oct. 25 drawing, according to an Illinois Lottery news release.
The lifelong Elk Grove resident purchased the ticket at a 7-Eleven at 565 N. Landmeier Road. The store received a bonus of $500 - 1 percent of the prize amount - for selling it.
