Mt. Prospect veteran wins $18,300 on 'Wheel of Fortune'
U.S. Army veteran Bill Swiniuch of Mount Prospect won $18,300 in cash and prizes, including a trip to Hawaii, during his appearance on "Wheel of Fortune" Friday evening.
With he and his wife expecting a younger sibling for their 2-year-old son in January, Swiniuch said before the show that he hoped to use any winnings to buy a minivan for his growing family.
Swiniuch's appearance was part of the show's "Veterans Week." During his 13 years in the Army, Swiniuch did two tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan.
