Arboretum of South Barrington ice rink opens Saturday

The Arboretum of South Barrington's 7,200-square-foot outdoor ice rink opens for its third season when the festive Santa parade arrives at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11. The first 50 families near the holiday tree will receive a free picture with St. Nick. There also will be a variety of special skating activities during the day and evening, highlighted by the lighting of the holiday tree with a laser light show at 5:30 p.m. followed by a dance performance by HOTT Productions NFP Performing Arts Studio at 6 p.m. The rink is open through on the plaza between Georgio's and MAGO. Admission is $12 with skate rental, $8 without skate rental and $8 for children under 3 years old. The rink will be open through Jan. 15.
