Police: Shoplifter stole $2,000 in merchandise from Libertyville store

Libertyville police are asking for the public's help in tracking down a woman they say stole about $2,000 in merchandise from a downtown business last week.

Sgt. Ed Swider said the woman, a white female with blond hair and a nose ring, entered Charles & Minerva, a women's clothing store at 535 N. Milwaukee Ave., about noon Nov. 2 and walked out with the stolen items. She was last seen wearing dark-colored yoga pants, police said.

The store's surveillance cameras and others downtown captured images of the woman, Swider said. Police are checking with nearby departments to see if they recognize her, he added.

Anyone with information about the woman or the theft is asked to call Swider at (847) 918-2104.
