Gurnee police Halloween detail leads to arrest, citations
In an effort to beef up enforcement during the Halloween weekend, the Gurnee Police department worked five special details from Oct. 27 through Nov. 1.
In that time, officers on the special detail stopped 21 vehicles, issued 18 safety restraint violations and made one drug/alcohol arrest, police said.
The effort was made possible by funds from the Illinois Department of Transportation, which sponsors similar enforcement periods across the state throughout the year to remove impaired drivers and improve safety on the roads during the overnight hours.
