Buffalo Grove gets grants from ComEd

Buffalo Grove recently received two grants of up to $10,000 from ComEd. The Buffalo Grove Police Department received a public safety grant from the Powering Safe Communities program, which will help fund the installation of an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a police vehicle. The department's goal is to add one AED to their patrol fleet each year. And Buffalo Grove received an Openlands grant from ComEd's Green Region program. The Public Works Department, in partnership with the Buffalo Grove Park District's Environmental Action Team, received the grant for restoring stream banks, buffer areas, basins and woodland along Farrington Ditch as part of a plan to create a continuous corridor populated by native plants that can be used by people and animals and connect Buffalo Grove parks with public lands.
