Bike paths to be repaved in Rolling Meadows

Bike paths in Salt Park and Kimball Hill Park in Rolling Meadows will be repaved this month, officials said.

The old paths will be ground up and compacted, and fresh asphalt will be laid between Central Road and the library, and between Kirchoff Road and the Cardinal Drive playground. The park board last month approved a $120,836 contract for the work with Chadwick Contracting Co.

Community surveys in 2011 and 2015 found improving the bike paths to be a high priority.
