Eating out in Schaumburg can help dog rescue agency

For the month of November, Salata, the "Next Generation Salad Bar," will donate 15 percent of any bill where the customer requests it to Chicagoland Dog Rescue. On Friday, Nov. 3, dog rescue representatives will be onsite at Salata's Schaumburg, 140 E. Golf Road, for kickoff day.

"Salata Salutes" is a new fundraising initiative that gives back to local non-profit organizations each month, according to Dan Campbell, owner of Chicago market Salata locations.

The program, also in effect at the Salata at 1083 E. Lake-Cook Road in Wheeling, benefited the Schaumburg and Wheeling school districts in October. In December, Salata will be "saluting" the Schaumburg and Wheeling food pantries.

Chicagoland Dog Rescue volunteers shelter, transport, socialize, handle and train the rescued dogs. The non-profit is volunteer-run and rescues and rehomes more than 100 dogs each year.
