Halloween is also for pooches in Elk Grove Village

Pooches were decked out in all manner of Halloween costumes - police officer, dinosaur, skeleton, princess - at the annual "Doggy Trick or Treat"on Saturday morning at Elk Grove Park District's Al Hattendorf Center.

The dogs, 19 altogether, took part in agility, musical chairs and costume contests. Paco, dressed as a dinosaur, won for best costume for a small dog, and Cowboy, dressed as a pirate, won in the large dog category.

The event is organized in conjunction with Pals for Pups in Roselle, which provides dog obedience training and day care.
