Adopt-A-Family in Palatine Township

Palatine Township is about to start its annual Adopt-A-Family program, providing new clothing, toys and gifts to families in need. Those who wish to participate can sign up at palatinetownship.com no later than Monday, Nov. 6 The township is requesting gift cards be provided in lieu of gifts for parents and guardians. The gift cards can be used to purchase needed items for the family including food, clothing and toiletries. The requested amount is about $50 for each family member so giving is even for all recipients. Gift cards can be placed in a separate envelope, and donors are asked to include a receipt. Once participants have signed up to adopt a family, they are assigned a specific donation drop off time Saturday, Dec. 16. Adopt-A-Family is anonymous, so donations must be delivered at the assigned time and in-need families will collect the gifts that day at a later time.
