How to help take needy kids Christmas shopping

For the 25th year, the Woodfield Area Children's Organization (WACO) will take nearly 600 preschoolers in need Christmas shopping in December.

Half will shop at the Elk Grove Walmart, 801 Meacham Road, on Saturday, Dec. 2. The others will shop at the Elgin Walmart, 1100 S. Randall Road, Saturday, Dec. 9.

Hundreds of adult and high school volunteers are needed to help the children shop, and others to wrap gifts. Bilingual volunteers also are needed.

It takes $80 to sponsor a child, but any donation is appreciated. Donate online at waco4kids.org, or mail a check payable to WACO to 725 E. Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg, IL 60194.
