Hoffman Estates Citizens Police Academy recruiting

The Hoffman Estates Police Department is seeking students for its 29th annual Citizens Police Academy, which will start Jan. 9 and run for a few months.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and live, work or attend school in Hoffman Estates.

The classes will run from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Tuesdays. The class size is limited and spots tend to fill up quickly.

For more information and to download an application, visit HoffmanEstates.org/police. You may also contact Sgt. Mark Mueller at mark.mueller@hoffmanestates.org or (847) 781-2866 for more information.

The purpose of the academy is to foster better communication between citizens and police through education. The academy creates well-informed citizens who possess greater insight into police practices and services.
