Mundelein won't add religious symbols to Christmas tree display

Rockers return to Libertyville High with a message

"Imagine the world you really want and fight for it, whatever you do." That was the message Tom Morello, best known as guitarist of the band Rage Against the Machine, brought to students Monday at Libertyville High School. He was in town with fellow Libertyville High alum and musician Ike Reilly to talk about their experiences at the school as part of its Centennial Year Celebration. Full story.

Cubs win ugly to take 2-1 lead over Nats in NLDS

Monday's victory gave the Cubs a 2-games-to-1 lead in the best-of-5 National League division series. They can clinch their third-straight trip to the NL championship series with a victory in today's game, which starts at 4:38 p.m. at Wrigley Field. Full story here.

Traffic

Keep an eye out for crashes reported after 7:30 a.m. today in Lake County on Gilmer Road east at Diamond Lake Road in the Mundelein area and Route 12 near Case Road north of Wauconda. In Elgin, there was a report about 7:30 a.m. of a car hitting a bicyclist at Summit Street at Route 25/Liberty Street. Drivers in Arlington Heights, Schaumburg, Rolling Meadows and Palatine should be aware there will be lane restrictions due to resurfacing work in both directions on Algonquin Road between Golf Road and Roselle Road.
