Antioch man wins $500,000 from scratchoff ticket

Lifelong Antioch resident Steve Frillman recently won the top prize of $500,000 in the instant Diamonds & Gold game, according to the Illinois Lottery. Frillman, 43, finished grocery shopping at Jewel-Osco, 966 Route 59, and on impulse he bought a $10 instant Diamonds & Gold ticket from the self-service machine. He scratched the ticket later at home and realized he had won. He presented the ticket to lottery officials Sept. 29 and his story was released Tuesday. He said he plans to take his family on vacation and invest the windfall. Jewel received a $5,000 bonus, 1 percent of the prize amount. Two of the other top $500,000 prizes remain unclaimed.
