Authorities find body armor during arrest of Round Lake area man

Lake County Sheriff's deputies and U.S. Marshals arrested a suspected gang member on a felony charge of aggravated battery early Thursday morning in Round Lake Park.

Joshua A. Jackson, 20, was arrested at his residence in the 500 block of Golfview Drive, authorities said.

The charge stems from a Round Lake Police Department investigation.

Lake County Sheriff's Sgt. Chris Covelli said the gang task force recovered body armor in Jackson's bedroom when he was arrested. The task force is working with the manufacturer of the body armor to determine why Jackson had it and how it was acquired, he added.

Jackson was in Lake County jail Friday on $100,000 bond. His next court appearance is Thursday.
