Carpentersville

• Lindsey Eder, 22, of Hampshire, was charged Monday with retail theft, Carpentersville police said. She is accused of stealing a $30 wallet from Kohl's in Spring Hill Mall.

• Busha Sams, 46, of Carpentersville was charged Sunday with retail theft and criminal trespassing, police said. She is accused of stealing three pairs of earrings from Kohl's in Spring Hill Mall. Sams, a former Kohl's employee, had previously been fired and banned from all company stores.

• A wallet containing $1,100, a credit card and an ID card was reported stolen Sunday out of a vehicle parked in the Walmart parking lot on Lake Marian Road.

• Denise Shannon, 26, of Carpentersville, was charged Sunday with retail theft, police said. Authorities say she selected $343 worth of merchandise from Walmart on Friday, brought the items to the service desk without paying and returned them for store credit. She was taken into custody when she returned to the store two days later.

• Alexander J. Burckle, 18, of Barrington, was charged Sunday with retail theft, Carpentersville records show. He is accused of stealing $25 sweatpants from Kohl's in Spring Hill Mall.

• A Carpentersville resident reported Saturday that someone put a large scratch in the door and fender of her vehicle while it was parked in the Kohl's parking lot,.

• A purse containing an ID card, a Social Security card, a debit card, a green card and several gift cards was reported stolen Friday from a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Delaware Street.

• A Sunny Hill Elementary School employee reported Friday that someone had broken a classroom window overnight.

• Darnisha L. Martin, 18, of Chicago, was charged Friday with retail theft, Carpentersville records show. She is accused of stealing $18 worth of merchandise from Kohl's in Spring Hill Mall.

• Shonda M. Burton, 20, of Carpentersville, was charged Sept. 28 with retail theft, police said. She is accused of stealing $32 worth of alcohol from Walmart on Lake Marian Road.

Kane County

• Assorted jewelry, valued at about $400, was reported stolen at 11:33 a.m. Monday from a home on the 45W900 block of McDonald Road near Hampshire.

• Someone crashed into two portable bathrooms and damaged 400 feet of chain-link fence between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday on the 1500 block of Dearborn Avenue near Aurora. The damage was estimated at $6,000.

• Prescription glasses and sunglasses, a total value of $370, were stolen between 10 and 11 p.m. Friday from a vehicle parked on the 36W600 block of Foothill Road near Elgin.
