Open house Oct. 12 on Lake Cook plan in Buffalo Grove

Buffalo Grove will host a public open house on Thursday, Oct. 12 to reveal and gather feedback on the draft vision for the future Lake Cook Corridor.

The draft has been shaped by community input and environmental, fiscal, and market realities. Over the summer, the project consultant team presented three framework alternatives for the corridor, and the public was invited to comment on each, either during a July open house or online.

Residents, business owners, property owners, community leaders, and other stakeholders are invited to attend the open house to view and comment on the draft vision. The open house takes place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, at the Community Arts Center, 225 McHenry Road, Buffalo Grove. Project team members will be present to address comments, questions, and collect additional feedback from the community.

The Lake Cook Corridor encompasses more than 472 acres and in excess of one million square feet of commercial space, homes, the village campus and municipal golf course.

The project team anticipates the plan will be completed by the end of 2017 or early 2018.
