Oak Brook woman killed by train in Clarendon Hills

A 34-year-old Oak Brook woman was struck by a train and killed just before 8 a.m. Thursday at the Prospect Street crossing in Clarendon Hills, police said.

A video shows the woman was attempting to cross the tracks while the gates were down and was struck by an eastbound train that passed while another train was boarding.

Police already were in the area conducting an enforcement campaign as part of Railroad Safety Week.

Service on the Burlington Northern line was stopped for a short period and then resumed on a delayed schedule due to the investigation.
