Lake County Opioid Epidemic symposium Thursday
Lake County State's Attorney Michael Nerheim and Coroner Dr. Howard Cooper will be among the speakers Thursday when the Lake County Republican Central Committee hosts an "Opioid Epidemic symposium" at the Libertyville Civic Center, 135 W. Church St., Libertyville.
Karen Wolownik Albert, executive director of Gateway Alcohol and Drug Treatment Center in Lake Villa, Bruce Johnson, CEO of NICASA Substance Abuse Center in Round Lake, and a representative of the Lake County Sheriff's Office also will take part.
The free event takes place from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and is open to the public.
