Fire destroys shed in West Chicago

Authorities are still investigating a fire that sparked inside a shed Thursday evening, authorities said.

West Chicago firefighters were called to the 0-100 block of Alena Drive for the reported shed fire at 7:24 p.m., officials said.

The 20-foot-by-20-foot shed was completely destroyed in the blaze.

No one was injured in the fire, and the fire did not spread to a nearby home.

The cause of the blaze is unknown, but is not suspicious in nature, authorities said.

The fire remains under investigation.

Firefighters from Winfield, Wheaton, Carol Stream, St. Charles and Bartlett assisted the West Chicago with the blaze, authorities said.
