Arlington Heights art studio hosts nude male model Friday

A downtown Arlington Heights art studio will go au naturel Friday night, Sept. 22, when it hosts a nude male model painting event to support prostate cancer research.

Bottle & Bottega, 10 W. Campbell St., will donate a portion of proceeds from the event to the Prostate Cancer Foundation. The BYOB studio space, which is coming up on its second anniversary in Arlington Heights, has hosted nude models before, for events both public and private, such as bachelorette parties.

There's often a theme, like a "sexy Santa, vampire, fireman or soldier," said owner Chris Bonk.

After a half-hour of sipping wine and mingling, the amateur artists take their seats behind 16x20 canvasses, and Bonk brings out the model.

"I will make a cornball announcement like, 'Hey ladies, our fireman is here today and the hook and ladder just dropped him off,'" Bonk said. "There's giggling for about 15 minutes, but then it gets down to drawing and paint."

Friday's event is from 7 to 10 p.m. To register, visit bottleandbottega.com/arlington-heights.
