How to donate your eclipse glasses

The Solid Waste Agency of Lake County is working with Astronomers without Borders to collect glasses worn to view last month's eclipse.

The glasses can provide firsthand science experience to many students in developing countries.

Glasses can be dropped off through Nov. 11 at locations including: Fremont Township office, 22385 W. Route 60, Mundelein; Deerfield Public Library, 920 Waukegan Road; Warren-Newport Public Library, 224 O'Plaine Road, Gurnee; and Lindenhurst Village Hall, 2031 E. Sand Lake Road.

Glasses also will be collected during the Recycle-O-Rama event from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Sept. 30, at the Fremont Township office.

Scratched, broken or torn glasses will not be accepted. For more information, visit www.swalco.org.
