Hofbrauhaus Chicago in Rosemont's entertainment district kicks off its fifth annual Oktoberfest celebration Friday night with a keg tapping, "oompah" band music, a stein-holding competition, and food and beer specials.

On Friday, Wintrust Bank CEO Ed Wehmer is scheduled to tap the keg, Rheinischer Verein Fanfaren Corps will perform, and the first 500 guests will receive free commemorative steins. The beer hall will host Oktoberfest through Oct. 29, with celebrity keg tapping events on consecutive Friday nights by sportscaster Lou Canellis, radio personality Eddie Volkman, Schiller Park Mayor Nick Caiafa, Polvision broadcaster Sergio Zgrzebski and Mr. Fix-It Lou Manfredini.

Hofbrauhaus will sell traditional cinnamon sugar roasted nuts Friday and Saturday nights, and serve seasonal "Oktoberfest" beer, brewed on site, throughout the fest.
