It was puppy-palooza at Carol Stream's CSBarks festival

Thousands of dogs and their owners made their way to the Carol Stream Park District's annual CSBarks dog festival Sunday where the pooches could join a "find the treat in the ball pit" contest or dress for success in the costume contest.

The event in the Carol Stream Town Center, one of the largest dog festivals in the Chicago suburbs, included demonstrations in agility by the German Shepherd Dog Club of Chicago, highflying Frisbee acrobatics from the Naperville-based Skydogs, a parade of breeds and a Fido Shopping Mall with all sorts of items for the four-legged visitors, from clothing and collars to handmade treats.

Amanda Sutton of Wheaton attended the festival for the first time with her dog Kalvin. Sutton said she loved seeing all the dogs and watching some dogs she runs with perform on the agility course.
