Lake County hosts mental health conference Sept. 14

The Lake County Health Department will host a Mental Health Wellness and Recovery Conference from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, at the Greenbelt Cultural Center, 1215 Green Bay Road, North Chicago.

The event will offer a shared, safe space for consumers in recovery to support each other. The theme is "Semicolon; 'It's not over!'" representing the choice to continue life, because it is used when an author could have ended their sentence but chose not to.

The conference is geared to those in recovery. Those working in the recovery services field are encouraged to attend. There is no admission fee and lunch will be provided. Registration deadline is Thursday, Sept. 7.
