Help Vernon Hills-based fire district win safety grant

Vernon Hills-based Countryside Fire Protection District is seeking public support to snare a $3,000 grant for fire and life-safety education programs.

The district has qualified by producing a video showing how it promotes fire safety in the community. Supporters should click on the video at https://www.facebook.com/countrysidefiredist/ and share with friends and family. The video that receives the most votes by Sept. 30, earns the grant.

Countryside has a nationally recognized educational program that visits each grade level twice a year at nine elementary and five middle schools in the community.
