Oakton Community College hires from within to fill two top positions

Oakton Community College has named a police chief and dean of curriculum and instruction.

On Monday, the board of trustees approved hiring Marvin Bornschlegl, a psychology professor and personal counselor at the school, to be the chief of police and emergency management.

Bornschlegl served in the Morton Grove Police Department from 1991 to 2013. He will be paid a $90,000 salary.

Trustees also approved hiring Ruth Williams as dean of curriculum and instruction. Williams is currently dean of the college's natural science and health careers division. She will be paid a $114,000 salary.
