Another amenity coming to Addison golf course

Another amenity will be added to the newly renovated and renamed The Preserve at Oak Meadows golf course in Addison: on-course bathrooms.

DuPage County Forest Preserve commissioners on Tuesday agreed to pay $208,000 to CXT Inc. to install a prefabricated washroom and concession building at the course formerly known as simply Oak Meadows. The roughly 800-square-foot concrete structure is planned for the northwest corner of the property.

District officials said the washroom and concession building will provide "a needed amenity" to improve the experience of visitors to the site. The structure will be accessible to golfers and users of the regional Salt Creek Greenway Trail.

It's anticipated that the building will be delivered and installed by late spring 2018.

Money for the structure is coming from $16.8 million the district set aside for upgrades to the 288-acre property.

Improvements made to the site include restoring the portion of Salt Creek that runs through the preserve and consolidating two golf courses into a single 18-hole facility with greater flood resistance and more stormwater storage capacity.

The Preserve at Oak Meadows last week opened the course for limited play. The grand opening occurs in April 2018.
