Taste of Arlington Heights draws crowds downtown

Thousands came to sample food from some two dozen restaurants and listen to music from performers both amateur and veteran at Saturday's Taste of Arlington Heights.

All downtown restaurants participated in the annual event, as did many from throughout town, including Via Arenella and Mr. D's for the first time.

The entertainment lineup kicked off at noon with student performers from the School of Rock, followed by the finals of Suburban Chicago's Got Talent. Music groups Second Time Around, Exit 147 and ARRA played into the evening.

The Taste is the sister shindig to the Mane Event, the downtown summer street party held Friday night.
