North Aurora Days kicks off 3-day run with book sale

The 35th North Aurora Days festival opened Friday with the Friends of Messenger Library book sale, and continues Saturday and Sunday at Clock Tower Plaza, Mooseheart and other locations.

The weekend includes music, food, kids activities and games, a carnival and fireworks Saturday night.

The Run for the Riverfront 1-mile Fun Run starts at 7:05 a.m. Saturday at the Mooseheart Fieldhouse, Route 31 and Mooseheart Road. There is also a 10K and a 5K. The Crossway Chapel Free Community Pancake Breakfast is 8 to 11 a.m. at 115 Oak St., the Kids Fishing Derby at Willow Lake Park from 9 to 11 a.m., Touch a Truck and Safety Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mooseheart Fieldhouse parking lot, a petting zoo and car show.

The pet parade is Sunday and judging is 10:30 to 11:50 a.m. at Routes 31 and 56, followed by the parade.
